The Book Thief

Name some acts of resistance in the book, from large to small. What does the author intend to communicate with the inclusion of these acts? What are some acts of resistance we see in our country today?

I only need the second question answered. What does the author intend to communicate with the inclusion of these acts?

Some acts of resistance from largest to smallest are Hans resists by helping those in need whoever they might be. Liesel uses a book burning to steal a book. Jewish armed resistance. Walter Kugler brings Max supplies. Hans refused to join the NSDAP. Hans gives a piece of bread to a Jewish man when a group a Jewish people are being led to the Concentration camp - in Dachau.

For the most part, we always hear about the bystanders who did nothing during the Holocaust, who were too afaid of the Nazi regime to question its actions, or who were too reined in by the constant propaganda to see what was really happening around them. In my opinion, the author makes a special effort to highlight these acts in order to acknowledge those who risked their own lives for the lives of others.
