How does max characterize time?

Max is imagining a boxing match in a different space and time, a reality that exists only in his head. Max beats Hitler up but only proves to the Germans how dangerous Jews are. Max uses this seemingly endless time in the basement to enter another realm in his head to keep himself sane.
