Hans Junior is a staunch Nazi. He doesn't speak to his father because he doesn't believe his father shows true allegiance to the Party.

The relationship between Hans Hubermann and his son is seperated because Hans Jr. is a part of the Nazi party and is commited to following Hitler and Hans wants to do it for his son but his application hasn't gone all the way through. Hans Jr., on the other hand, calls his father a coward because he feels that he is not true to his allegiance towards the Nazis.
