I've only just seen your post, Samantha.

I have been studying Daniel for several years - and have a web-site which goes through it chapter by chapter.

In a nutshell THE main theme of Daniel is to show how the worst that can happen (like the Jews being dragged as slaves to pagan Babylon) can be turned into a personal victory by those who stand for the right through any adversity.

Daniel and his three companions did just that - from the first chapter when they were tested on their faith by being offered unclean meats - through the fiery furnace and the lion's den.

I shall be happy to enlarge on this. Please e-mail me - [email protected]

i think the theme of the book of daniel is ths=e universality of God, from jerusalem to babylon.

the jews though that yahweh is for the jews alone.

The sovereignty of God.

The preservation of Israel.

The spiritual reality behind history.

Living amidst paganism.
