Why do actors need to prepare or train in order to perform on stage?

Any type of performance demands preparation whether you're an actor, musician, athlete, or even a teacher. Training and preparation are an integral part of stage performance..... live acting on stage demands perfection. There are no retakes like in film. You have to get it right the first time.
