How does the fact that Edna is not a Creole affect her relationship with others on Grand Isle?

She has a feeling of being excluded from the group around her. Because she is a white, prebrytarian woman, they do not disclose many stories to her pretaining to gender and sexuality. They feel as if it isn't polite to invade her like that.
