what has happened in your life that is similar to some of the things that are happening to the people in the story??

Okay, I have never had a dream about a treasure nor have I had to sell a bunch of sheep and travel to Egypt. Still I have traveled to different places thinking they would be way better than home. True, the places were different but they also taught me how special home was as well. It's not so much the place that you are at but the people who care about you which makes it special. So just as Santiago returned home to discover his treasure, I too returned home to re-descover a treasure of sorts. Anyhow, I’m sure you get the idea. Perhaps you might be able to think of something within your own experience?
