In The Age of Innocence, do Ellen and Archer ever have sexual relations?

I have read the book,and seen the movie, and neither seems to say definitely if they consummated their relationship.  Some analyses of the book say they do. If so, where does it happen in the book or movie.  (Pesonally, I don't think they did)
