How did Tom and Becky got into relationship back again

I'm not sure where you are referring to in the story. Tom and Beck's relationship was certainly hot and cold. Becky can be pouty and sad about Tom and then happy about him. When they are lost in the cave, Becky is upset with Tom and when they get out, she is impressed with him.
