This question calls for your opinion. There is no right or wrong answer. In my opinion, the novel portrays the times as they were.

Yes, in my opinion, this novel should be taught today.... for its perspective, and as a lesson. Many books that are removed from the curriculum have a wealth of knowledge.... they are important. I do not believe in banning books. I do, however, believe that novel choices should be based on age appropriate texts.
