Eradicating butterflies will not get rid of tornadoes. If the flap of a butterfly's wings can, in principle, cause a tornado, so can countless other things, such as the flapping of some politicians' lips. Also, for all we know, the flap of a butterfly's wings may have just prevented a tornado.
