Valence Electrons- Valence electrons are the electrons present in the outer most shell of the atom. Core Electrons- All the other electrons present in an atom apart from the valence electrons are core electrons.

Valence Electrons occupy the outermost shell of an atom. They, therefore take part in chemical bonding. Core Electrons are the electrons which are present in the inner shells of the atom. They do not take part in chemical bonding.
