Salt can be separated from sand by mixing it with water

Work Step by Step

Put the mixture of sand and salt in a pan of water. Heat the water until salt is fully dissolved in it. Pour the water in another container and collect the sand. Heat salt and water mixture until water evaporates and you are left with the salt.
