Granuloma inguinale is the disease caused by Klebsiella granulomatis and diagnosed by finding “Donovan bodies” (large mononuclear cells) from lesion scrapings. Lymphogranuloma venereum is diagnosed by finding chlamydias as inclusions in pus. Inclusion conjunctivitis results from self-inoculation with Chlamydia trachomatis from genitals via fingers or towels.
