Answer

Due to impaired production of coagulation factors

Work Step by Step

Liver is the site for the synthesis of coagulation factors like prothrombin, fibrinogen and so on.A cascade of events occur prior to formation of clot, and this requires the presence of the so-called coagulation or clotting factors. So,in the absence of these factors,as in the case of severe liver diseases like cirrhosis,a condition called coagulopathy occurs. As a result, such patients often have an impaired blood clotting.
