Chapter 9 - Section 9.4 - Hypothesis Tests About a Population Proportion: Large Samples - Exercises - Page 384: 9.68

Answer

Firstly, we declare null hypothesis is the percentage of satisfied customers haven’t changed and alternative hypothesis is the percentage of satisfied customers has changed. Secondly, we assume the sample size n is large enough to conduct the two-tailed hypothesis testing by making sure that np and nq are larger than 5. We define the significance level α , and we then find the critical value of the test and compute the sample standard deviation,$σ_p̂$ and observe value, z. If - critical value < z < critical value, we failed to reject the null hypothesis. Otherwise we reject the null hypothesis.
