Chapter 2 - Review Exercises - Page 173: 52

Answer

The graph is shown below.

Work Step by Step

The given equation of line is $\Rightarrow 2x=-10$ Divide both sides by $2$ $\Rightarrow \frac{2x}{2}=-\frac{10}{2}$ Simplify. $\Rightarrow x=-5$ This is the standard form x=k. It is a vertical line whose $x- $ intercept is k. We have $k=-5$. The points on the line are $(-5,1),(-5,2)$, $(-5,3)$ and so on. Take two such points - for example $(-5,1)$ and $(-5,2)$ - and draw a line. Take a checkpoint, for example $(-5,3)$ and notice it belongs to the line.
