Chapter 8 - Coordinate Geometry and Linear Systems - 8.1 - Cartesian Coordinate System - Problem Set 8.1 - Page 335: 12

Answer

The plot is attached.

Work Step by Step

In order to graph using a cartesian coordinate system, first start at the origin (where the two axis intersect). Then, go the number of units left or right indicated by the first number in the ordered pair (recall, a negative number means that you go left while a positive number means that you go right). Next, go the number of points indicated by the second number in the ordered pair up or down (if the second number is negative, go down, but if the second number is positive, go up). Once you have done this, plot a point at the location that you are at.
