General purpose simulation system (GPSS) is a simulation language which is used mainly for modelling discrete systems. One of the main reasons why it is well-suited for implementing simulation models is its speed and built in flexibility, which allows the model to execute faster. GPSS also automatically keeps track of statistics, which can later be displayed on a report once execution has finished for the user to have a look at. It is also very easy to learn, making mistakes less likely when in use by people.
