Work Step by Step

ANSWER: a. ZONED-BIT RECORDING (ZBR): Increasing the free hard drive space by increasing the amount of sectors per track is called the “Zoned-Bit Recording” process. One significant advantage of Zoned-Bit Recording is that, it allows the outer tracks to have more sectors than the inner tracks. This also increases the overall storage capacity of the disk without increasing its physical size and can also improve data transfer rates, since the outer zones can pass under the read/write head faster, transferring more data per rotation. b. DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SEEK TIME & ACCESS TIME: One of the main differences in Seek Time & Access Time is that, the Seek Time is the time that takes for the head to travel from the current track to the one with where the data is known. While the Access Time is the time in which a computer has to Read/Write the request & retrieve the data it needs.
