Answer

(i). Telescreens (ii). Somehow, we can say, yes.

Work Step by Step

(i). In the novel $1984$ written by "George Orwell (Eric Blair)", the author described his imagination of future technologies used for surveillance by the governments. One of the significant technologies mentioned by him was the "TELESCREENS". A Telescreen is much like the Television. It is composed of two components (television & surveillance camera) for the secret monitoring purposes. (ii). Yes, we can say that the technologies like Telescreens are being used as predicted in the novel, but nowadays a television is a common device in which a person can watch shows and other media channels. But Telescreens are still in use. But the Technology evolves faster, as we have been realizing the enhanced versions of Telescreens in the form of "CCTV Cameras", "Drone Cameras" & other secret monitoring devices.
