What is the significance the Stonehenge scene? In your opinion, what does Hardy achieve in trying to relate the historic place like the Stonehenge with the destiny of Tess?

Stonehenge and other ancient relics remind us that the Gods connected to them were unfair and Tess's destiny is a continuation of her shattered fate.
