She is strong in the sense that she managed to go on with her life after Angel left shortly after their wedding. She was strong when her son sorrow died. She mustered enough courage to baptize him and make him free of her sins before he died and gave him a burial. She was weak because Alec was a part of her life that she could not let go. She was strong in that fact that she killed Alec and faced her excution with courage.
