Robin is young, overweight, and often picked on by other students at school. In order to stay busy, he spends his time hunting down imaginary characters that he calls "Nethers" near his home. Robin is considerate and thoughtful, as evidenced in his determination to return Don's coat to him when he finds it..... an act that caused him to break through the ice on the pond. Luckily, Don was close enough to help him home.
