Mr. Cruncher forbids her to pray, is abusive verbally and perhaps physically (he throws things at her, but we don’t know if they actually hit her). How would you advise a woman in her situation? Explain how a Christian woman can have the right attitudes and actions when she is married to a man like Jerry.

Jerry goes home and lectures Mrs. Cruncher for praying again. Although I can't comprehend how a woman might feel during the time, I would suggest that she keep on praying without her husband's knowledge. Prayer seems to give her a little solace in her miserable life. Her husband is an abusive drunk anyway so she might as well keep on doing it.
