Hunger

How would you describe ‘Hunger’ as depicted by the author in Chapter 5 (Book I)?

In Chapter Five, hunger is not merely depicted as a shortage of food and the weakness and frustration that result from it. but rather as desperation. The people are lusting for "blood"..... for revolution, and the spilt wine is a symbol of what they cannot have, as well as for what they want.
