why does Jerry cruncher stop to see the physician after the funeral ?

why does Jerry object to his wifes flopping ?

1. The funeral procession is for Roger Cly a suspected traitor; the crowd is making a scene in an attempt to blacken his name.

2. He actually visits the undertaker.

3. He thinks it will bring him bad luck (well; she's praying, maybe a bit more than that).
