The dream is significant because in the dream, the Sultana experiences life in Ladyland, a place where women are allowed to walk free, labor at tasks of their choosing, and participate in society without restriction. In the story, Rokeya illustrated the way society would improve if women were strengthened, rather than disenfranchised. She also illustrates the advantages of femininity, as women tend to work and problem solve in groups, unlike men, who often see the tasks at hand as a form of competition.
