Melinda decides to write about the suffragettes the struggles they endured to earn equal rights for women. Mr. Neck insists that Melinda make her report oral and Melinda is horrified at doing this.

On the day of her report, Melinda hangs a suffragette poster over a note she has written on the blackboard. When she stands to make her presentation, she rips the poster down revealing her belief in standing up for what she believes in. Melinda is later suspended for her "outburst".
