Melinda has mentioned the scabs on her lips on many occasions, but she never fully explains where they come from. what do you suspect has happened to melinda lips?

Melinda, at one point, has chewed her lip so much that it bled and scabbed.She would chew again and the bleeding comes back. I think this represents the wounds in her soul that won't heal.
