A Rose For Emily

What is the Allegorical meaning of the chamber that was broken open? When you analyze the allegorical you will consider the symbolic reference of the North and South historical relationship after the civil War.

The North and the South is also reflected in the young and the old.... new ideas and old ideas.... the townspeople and Miss Emily. Upon breaking open the chamber, the younger townspeople find the decaying corpse of Homer Baron, in the same way Faulkner's depicts the Old South.... as a decaying relic.
