In keeping with the Greek classical tradition, the tragedy of Macbeth is characterized by an internal flaw in the hero that renders him powerless to his fate. Therefore Macbeth's tragic fall is expected and inescapable because of his own action or inaction. Shakespeare incorporated the sensibilities of his contemporary society into the tragedy to interpret it as real-life drama.
