Horatio, one of Hamlet's closest freinds, he also acts as Hamlet's foil due to their very different personalities. Horatio is a scholar, he is intelligent, and he is thoughtful..... rational. He serves as Hamlet’s stabilizer.... he is a calming friend to an angry prince.
