Why exactly doesn't Lady Middlton like Elinor and Mairanne? Why does she like Mrs. Dashwood (ch12) and Lucy Steele (ch36)?

Mrs. Middleton likes Lucy Steele because she allows the older woman to fuss over her. She likes Fanny Dashwood because they're so much alike..... kindred spirits. Lady Middleton isn't overly fond of the Dashwood sisters, Elinor and Marianne, because they don't fall over themselves to flatter her. She likes attention and flattery, and they simply don't provide it.
