What earlier preparation was made for the potion solution in Act 4, Scene 1?

The Friar told Juliet that he would make her a potion that would make her seem to be dead for forty-eight hours. He would then get news of their plan to Romeo, so that he could meet Juliet at the tomb and take her away from Verona without anyone having knowledge of it.
