Bringing in Technology

Several filmmakers have taken on the task of adapting Romeo and Juliet; the film-viewing activity on Day 5 allows for analysis that goes beyond the textual and into the technical. Encourage students to consider and discuss the differences between Franco Zeffirelli's version and Baz Luhrmann's, between the cinematic technology of the 1960s, the 1990s, and filmmaking today.

During the Podcasting activity on Days 3 and 4, students will be creating audio recordings of their own written material for class consumption.
