Stacey is a boy, and he is upset because he believes Mr. Morrison is taking over his role as the "man" of the house when his father isn't home.

stacey gets upset because papa said that when he leaves to work that stacey will be the man of the house and help mama with things. but when papa returns he brings along mr.morrison to watch over his family, which was staceys job. so as in result stacey is upset w. mr.morrison because he took his job.
