Stacey is the oldest of the Logan children. He is hovering on adulthood and reflects many of the values of the Logan family. Although the Logan parents would not approve of hindering the white children's school bus he does reflect Logan ingenuity. Stacey does know how to be careful when the conflict involves whites. Stacey displays some clever planning and strategy when he digs the ditch across the road and does his best to quiet Cassie when she speaks up in the store in Strawberry. Although Stacey separates himself from TJ, he is still concerned about him frequently asking other boys how he is doing.
