What is Achilles thinking about at the edge of the shore?

As Achilles stands at the edge of the shore, he thinks about his mother and son who he has not seen since leaving for the war. He also thinks about Patroclus, his closest friend, who was killed as a result of Achilles' actions on the battlefield (Achilles' inaction).
