Neither Eliza or her father embraced the enormous changes in their lives. They weren't looking for the changes they experienced.... they wanted more, but they didn't want what they received. There were a few differences, however. Eliza was sold to the highest bidder..... her father had to become a gentleman by accident. None-the-less, each of them had benefactors. Eliza had Henry, who helped her out of selfishness. Her father had Wannafeller, who had nothing to gain from the bequest he left in his will. Lastly, Eliza asked for Higgins' help.... her father asked for nothing but five pounds.
