Pygmalion

How does Shaw show that he is proud of his native language?

Act 1, when the Note Taker says that he can pass off the flower girl as a duchess in three months at an ambassador's paarty.

Shaw has a flair for language. Much of his enthusiasm for diction, linguistics...can be seen through the character of the Note Taker. Take a look at much of the Note Taker's dialogue and you will see an appreciation of language in what he says and observes. Although he is rather pompous, the character loves language.
