As Eliza evolves from her days as a simple flower girl, we like her more and more. She becomes sophisticated enough to even outgrow the experiment that Higgins felt himself so clever for. Eliza has transcended the parameters of the professors little test of social engineering. Eliza soon resents this. She throws slippers and shoes at the professor when she realizes just how far he wishes to take his experiment. Eliza begins to see the professor with his own set of social and emotional limitations.
