Dolittle as in Eliza's father? Higgins and Eliza have a platonic relationship, although her dependence on him becomes a sort of infatuation. She feels abandoned when the experiment is over, and shortly afterwards...... Higgins realizes that he misses and has feelings for her. When he tries to convince her to return to him, she refuses.

Eliza's father does little more than extract money when possible. He takes money from his daughter, and he also takes money from Higgins.
