Mrs. Pearce is the Higgin's housekeeper and becomes a surrogate mother to Eliza. Her main concern is that Mr. Higgins' experiment with Eliza doesn't hurt the girl. Her perspective on Eliza is far more realistic than Higgins in that she comes from a lower class than the Higgins family, but yet hasn't experienced quite the degree of poverty that Eliza has.
