Kambili finds her self to be under the strict rules of her father. she doesn't get the chance to speak whenever she is around people but as time goes on, when she visited Auntie Ifeoma's house she begin to see how her father abuses them not just her but her mother and jaja, with this she gets the chance to learn from Amaka which is Auntie Ifeoma's daughter, she is very outspoken, respectful and very sassy. Kamili begins to learn somethings from her before she got to know father Amadi who brought out the other side of kambili and even made her feel better about herself and after she found out about papa she knew how to deffend herself or protect her family from him because if they still allow him to be in their lives he wud make it miserable for them and never getb the chance to be happy ever in their lives
