Mr.Collins's letter is rather condescending in his letter. He really gets ahead not on his virtues but rather "sucking up" to the rich and elite of society. Mr. Collins's letter has an undertone that seems to say he is doing the Bennets a favour by visiting and considering one of the daughters for marriage.
