What is so shocking about Lydia's elopement?

Lydia was impulsive but nobody thought tat impulsive. Elopement was scandalous and pretty much negated any business transactions between families. Lydia was all about the pomp and circumstance of marriage yet she elopes. Lydia puts the fortunes of all her sisters at risk.
