What was the difference between Mr Bennet's reaction to Jane marrying Bingley and his attitude towards Elizabeth's engagement to Darcy?

Because Elizabeth had been so set on not marrying Darcy to begin with, Mr. Bennet questions Elizabeth to some extent to make sure that she is truly in love with him.  Once he is certain of her feelings, the family welcomes the marriage of the two.
