Although, Darcy has come to appreciate and embrace Elizabeth's point of view, I believe that she has done some soul searching as well. Both characters suffered from pride, and the each had their own prejudices..... neither party was innocent of preconceived notions or particularly open to friendship let alone romance when they first met. In the end, Elizabeth and Darcy each realized their mistakes..... she even questioned why it took him so long to propose the second time. Darcy, on the other hand, learned a lot from his first proposal and its blatant inadequacies..... no emotion and filled with a sense of superiority.
