Elizabeth now realizes that Miss Bingley's behavior toward her has been motivated by jealousy. Caroline wants Mr. Darcy in a bad way and knows Elizabeth is in the way. She is condescending and goes from subtly insulting Jane to outright trash talking her. This chapter shows Caroline's true colours.
